How
Terms Glossary
FCC and TV have various terms.
Within the Box
Rookies think that movies are made by aiming a camera at a subject and filming it, then editing it, dubbing it, laying in a soundtrack, and so forth.
Beyond
Other ways, other forms and new insights into process can be used to make movies and TV shows besides using a movie camera or a camcorder. Some are interested in making movies using Linux as the platform and a digital (still) camera.
HON can be crafted so as to go to the edge in various segments. Let's relish the frontiers.
Sculptor
An artist with a small art bronze foundry who enjoys making figurative
work with the Cire Perdue, or Lost Wax process works with a model, and
make the original sculpture in clay or wax. Then he put on different hats
and follow through with all the steps involved in the process to complete
a bronze cast.
Interest flowed in making a movie as a useful reference of the model
when the model is away from the studio. Such a photographic reference,
combined with Lanteri-type measurements of the model, and a description
of the lighting would allow building an armature, and roughing-in under-
lying masses of clay or wax on the armature.
The model would pose on a turntable which is rotated in front of a digital
camera which is fixed on a tripod. A photo is taken at each ten degrees
for a total of 36 photos. The movie would consist of the 36 stills strung
together. The movie would give the effect of a 3-D model.
